Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Mission Viejo, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading hospital in Mission Viejo, CA, to find a skilled and dedicated Interventional Radiology Technologist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing advanced imaging services and assisting physicians during interventional procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including angiograms, biopsies, drainages, and stent placements, utilizing sophisticated radiologic equipment.
• Prepare patients for procedures, ensure their comfort and safety, and assist with positioning and draping.
• Operate modality-specific equipment, collaborate with physicians, and maintain technical skills to assist in various IR procedures.
• Select appropriate radiographic factors to minimize patient radiation exposure while meeting quality standards.
• Maintain proficiency in sterile technique and demonstrate a working knowledge of various supplies and equipment used in IR procedures.
• Collaborate as a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to patient care and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Formal training in radiology procedures or equivalent education/experience
• California Radiologic Technologist license upon hire
• National Registered Technologist - Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire
• Within 1 year of hire, one of the following:
  • National Registered Technologist - Cardiac-Interventional Radiography
  • National Registered Technologist - Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography
  • National Registered Technologist - Vascular-Interventional Radiography
  • National Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Participation in a continuing education program
• 2 years experience in special procedures or Cardiovascular Lab
