Inventory Clerk (Evaluation Hire)

Hourly Rate: $21 per hour
Location: Must live in Northern St. Lucie County or Southern Indian River County
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Summary: Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and organized Inventory Clerk for one of our Vero Beach clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of products and supplies. This position requires a proactive approach to inventory control, loss mitigation, and the maintenance of an efficient warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all shipping and receiving functions, including sales order processing, freight receipt, and handling damaged goods disputes.
• Maintain an organized and clean warehouse space.
• Process return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) and coordinate with vendors.
• Perform cycle counts and semi-annual inventory checks.
• Assist in the proper ordering of new supplies to avoid excess stock.
• Develop protocols for tracking and securing inventory in process for customers.
• Implement and oversee inventory control policies and procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse and facilities maintenance.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on forklifts (certification preferred).

Additional Duties:

• Sort incoming and outgoing mail and maintain required supplies.
• Support other departments with inventory coordination as needed.
• Generate and track purchase orders, research vendors, and collect material specifications.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills with warehouse staff, purchasing teams, and vendors.
• Advanced knowledge of inventory control procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with at least basic experience with Excel
• Forklift operator experience is preferred; OSHA certification is a plus.
• Keyboard proficient.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of prior warehouse experience.
• 1-3 years’ experience with computerized inventory systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching within a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work in non-air-conditioned spaces and outdoor areas as needed.
