Job Duties
Work under general supervision, responsible for the verification of inventory accuracy levels in all locations of the department. Operate moving equipment and place stock in correct locations using FIFO.Communicates any patient related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures.Enter all inventories in a timely manner/accurately into provided systems.Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients, and visitors.Contributes to patient and customer satisfaction goals by providing quality service.Wears name tag identification.Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO.Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.Follows HACCP guidelines when receiving, assembling and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply.Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment.Completes all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting all prescribed deadlines.Identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals following directions recommended bymanufacturers and per MSDS sheets.Utilizes equipment in performing job functions according to department’s safety procedures.Follows facility and departmental infection control policies and procedures.Follows the facilities protocols for Hazardous Materials and Waste Program.Adheres to Emergency Preparedness Program. Participates in disaster drills as appropriate.Adheres to Life Safety Program and participates in fire drills as appropriate.Responds to utility failures following department guidelines and adheres to Lock-out/Tagout policies where appropriate.Participates and attends departmental meetings and staff development programs, as appropriate. Reads and complies with all policies and procedures.Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectationsMaintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.

BASIC COMPETENCIES
EducationHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).
ExperienceOne to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents.Perform mathematical calculations.Basic knowledge of a standard computer and its applications.Good interpersonal skills.Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.JOB SETTING/PHYSICAL DEMANDSPatient floors, cafeteria, kitchens.Exposed to heat, wetness, odors in kitchen and/or patient areas.Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements such as steam, electricity, sharp knives and cutting equipment.Moderate physical effort lifting light to heavy objects and pushing carts.Frequent prolonged standing/walking.
