Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through warehouse systems, cycle counting, and proactively resolving inventory discrepancies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates Schneller values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and processes.
Safely operates powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and auxiliary equipment to perform position functions.
Follows all company policies and procedures, including safety procedures and resolves and reports any unsafe conditions immediately.
Maintains safe and clean work areas including warehouses, point of use, non-conforming, experimental, and supply inventories. Organizes inventories for optimal consumption by operations including FIFO.
Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and perform appropriate inventory adjustments.
Ensures accuracy of inventory location transactions. Performs root-cause investigations of errors, creates reports, and implements corrective actions as required.
Manages offsite warehouse storage including cycle count, transportation and Kanban FIFO systems.
Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
Provides inventory reports to Supply Chain manager.
Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the Supply Chain manager.
Performs other projects and/or responsibilities as required to support business goals and objectives.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years' experience in a warehousing environment, with demonstrated experience safely operating powered industrial trucks and FIFO warehousing systems.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate or equivalent, with ability to read and comprehend related documentation and perform basic math functions as required by the position.
Must be able to safely operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) and other material handling equipment 8-10 hours per day.
Functional ability to use a computer to perform accurate data entry, generate related documents and reports through MS Office, Bar Code System and ERP software.
Knowledge and understanding of basic inventory control processes and procedures, with strong attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work with others collaboratively to resolve issues.
Ability to learn and understand Schneller written and verbal policies and procedures and related business processes and work instructions.
Ability to learn and adapt to new processes.
Ability and desire to learn and adapt to new processes, and to generate and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
To conform with US export regulations and ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772, incumbents for this role must be eligible for any required authorizations from the US government.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without accommodation:
Must be able to lift up 50 pounds frequently throughout the scheduled workday
Position may require person to sit at a desk for up to 4 hours, constantly performing repetitive motions to use a personal computer and other office equipment, as well as walking around an office and industrial environment.
