JOB SUMMARY:The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory levels and data integrity within the manufacturing environment. Responsible for conducting regular cycle counts of inventory items, this position helps identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent inventory inaccuracies. The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with warehouse personnel, production teams, and inventory control specialists to maintain optimal inventory accuracy and support uninterrupted production operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items according to established schedules and procedures to ensure accurate inventory records. Communicating with receiving team on any receiving discrepancies Utilize handheld scanners or other inventory management tools to accurately count and record inventory levels, locations, and movements. Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during cycle counts, including investigating root causes, identifying process improvements, and implementing corrective actions. Work closely with production teams to coordinate cycle counting activities without disrupting production schedules. Opens containers and packaging using cutters and other tools. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets up to 50 lbs., trays, racks, and shelves by hand or by using pallet jack or electric dolly. Stacks boxes on skids, wraps, and uses proper identification labeling. Must pass and maintain forklift training. Ensures material transactions are accurate and timely into the ERP system. Collaborate with Inventory Control Manager and other stakeholders to analyze cycle count results, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy. Perform inventory reconciliation tasks, such as investigating variances between physical counts and system records and adjusting inventory levels as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of cycle count activities, including count sheets, adjustment records, and inventory reports. Participate in periodic physical inventories and audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Follow established safety protocols and procedures while performing cycle counting activities in warehouse and production areas. Supports the company values and product opportunities. Performs other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by manager. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, including participating in cross-functional teams, and providing feedback on process enhancements. Previous experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems and handheld scanning devices preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to count and record inventory items quickly and efficiently. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a team player who can contribute to a positive work environment. Experience with Microsoft Office Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and implement preventive measures.
