About the Job
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Finance and Assets, the Inventory Control Specialist oversees and maintains the pharmaceutical supplies for the long-term care pharmacy.
Qualifications:
- Registered with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy, Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
- H.S. Diploma/GED
- 2+ years of pharmacy experience preferred, preferably in long-term care pharmacy, retail, mail order, and/or hospital
- 1 year Inventory Management and/or Pharmacy Purchasing preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Possesses strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills, including pharmacy operations system (FrameworkLTC experience preferred), and moderate-to-strong comprehension of Microsoft Word/Excel
- Intermediate math skills
- Provides teamwork and positive oriented attitude
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Highly reliable and self-motivated
- Flexible work schedule required
- Ability to work within deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Assists staff in preparing orders, ensure accurate billing and shipment of orders, and receive, unpack and enter products into one of our automated inventory systems
- The Inventory Control Specialist ensures that inventory cycle counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner
- Assists with procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present
- Conducts inventory audit on a regular basis and provides reports to management
- Audits received drugs for accuracy, quality, and adherence to all special instructions
- Reports inventory on hand and any drug shortages at management meetings
- Process prescriptions returns and credits from facilities
- Regularly reviews inventory for options to improve prescription reimbursement margins
- Enters and maintains drug formulary in pharmacy software
