POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate tracking and management of inventory at the assigned location. This role involves conducting inventory counts, maintaining optimal stock levels, assisting in the implementation of inventory control procedures, and collaborating with the inventory team to ensure seamless operations. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy and efficiency across the organization.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and maintainaccurate stock levels by monitoring inventory reports, including sales loss and allocation reports, and processing Return Authorizations to ensure proper accountability of all products.
- Use inventory tracking systems and software to monitor and record all incoming and outgoing inventory movements, regularly updating the inventory database based on cycle counts and daily transactions.
- Perform daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and maintain the integrity of the inventory database.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Control Support Team and procurement teams to forecast inventory needs, considering commodity availability to maintain sufficient stock levels.
- Assist in demand planning to monitor replenishment requests, ensuring optimal stock levels and preventing both stockouts and overstock situations.
- Analyze inventory data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve turnover rates, and develop strategies for optimizing inventory control.
- Distribute Aged Inventory reports to buyers, serving as a liaison between Sales, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to proactively address slow-moving products.
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and take necessary actions to reallocate or reduce stock to minimize company exposure.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent organizational skills for managing inventory records, handling multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory and quickly identifying discrepancies.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, create reports using Excel and inventory management software, and make data-driven decisions to enhance inventory accuracy and performance.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to address inventory challenges and implement effective, long-term solutions.
EDUCATION/EXPIERENCE:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Must have previous experience in purchasing, inventory management, or a related field is advantageous, especially in roles involving inventory control, order fulfillment, or warehousing.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Professional office environment. Primary office environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
