Job Description
The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for maintaining appropriate levels in SPD Central. This role will perform distribution functions related to unit requests via phone or requisition, including proper billing.
Additional duties include:
~Acts as a resource person for co-workers and units regarding supply needs and their uses.
~Assists in crediting patient/units with unused or defective supplies.
~Initiates purchase orders and billing process for special patient and departmental needs and monitors their timely delivery.
~Initiates purchase orders for implants and monitors their timely delivery.
~Maintains perpetual inventory of department use supplies.
~Cycle counts inventory on a consistent basis.
~Double checks accuracy and condition of supplies delivered to SPD and places supplies in proper inventory areas.
~Assists in maintaining all items in perpetual inventory in a neat/orderly manner on the shelves.
~Issues, sends and puts away equipment, and makes tracking tags as needed.
~Orders beds and equipment when the Equipment Coordinator is unavailable.
~Dispenses supplies from Storeroom and Linen after hours.
~Checks and stocks Code Carts/Bags and OB Latex Free Tubs.
~Delivers Code Cart and pump for code blues.
~Puts up traction overheads and restocks cart.
~Picks the Anesthesia and OR Daily order and delivers to Surgery.

Qualifications Include:
~HS Diploma or equivalent
~Familiarity with medical terminology
~Knowledge and familiarity with computer systems
~Prior inventory control experience preferred
