SUMMARY: Manages, directs and coordinates the day-to-day receipt of items and the monitoring of inventory, ensuring accurate inventory of product in warehouse. Plans, organizes and directs the work of the Inventory staff. Partners with the Director of Operations to review inventory and system processes to develop recommendations for improvement. Manages end of month and fiscal year-end inventory processes as well as the preparation and distribution of regular and ad hoc inventory reports.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Develops and implements inventory strategies for the advancement of MOF product distribution.
- Directly supervises the Inventory team in carrying out the functions of inventory management including WMS location tool
- Responsible for the accurate maintenance of the inventory database (via cycle counts, etc.) and physical rotation of products.
- Supervise the data input and maintenance of product including item number catalog, new donor number creation and invoices
- Oversees inbound scheduling for all deliveries.
- Manages product recalls and complies with recall directives as appropriate.
- Partners with Director of Food Resource Development to recommend actions for unusable, slow moving and excess stock and also make recommendations to promote a robust inventory
- Coordinates resolution of order complaints and inventory discrepancies.
- Manages accurate donor filing systems
- Responsible for all monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory reports for MOF, Feeding America, Ohio Association Foodbanks and all governmental agencies as well as senior management.
- Oversees CHOICE system product acquisition allocations to the Feeding America cluster members
- Manages TEFAP product acquisition allocations to the PDO
- Manages receipting of all product received including USDA, Ohio Ag., OFP, Vendor Purchased, Feeding America, Second Servings, Direct Partner pickups, food donations and other special purchases
- Maintains all sourcing activity requirements to maintain inventory levels required for CSFP program
- Partners with Director of Operations to review inventory and systems processes and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee cleaning and organization of receiving/shipping docks.
- Manages employees including performance management, training and development, workflow planning, and interviewing/on-boarding.
- Partners with Safety Manager to identify and remedy safety concerns and champions weekly safety meetings
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with MOF team members and stakeholders
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education and Certifications: Four year degree in related field or equivalent education and relevant experience required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Foodbank)
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a fast-paced, warehouse environment. Experience should include operation of inventory control systems. Equipment experience including use of forklift (propane and electric), electric pallet jacks/riders (4ft and 8ft) is required. Working knowledge of general warehouse machinery and operations. Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software.

JOB CONDITIONS:
Working Conditions: Warehouse environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual pallet jack). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Must work in constantly changing climate temperatures (may work in sub-freezing temperatures occasionally). Some night and weekend work required.
