JOB POSITION: Inverter Repair Technician
Konecranes is seeking a Lab Repair Technician for our Port Service Inverter Rebuild Facility in Savannah, Georgia.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot, test, and repair inverter equipment in accordance with Konecranes standards
Maintain and service inverters and associated equipment to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Perform remote on-site customer services, troubleshooting and repairing of inverter equipment and related products at various Ports within North and South America.
Perform depot-based repair, testing and re-certification of inverters
Provide technical support to customers and technicians on site
Document and complete reports upon completion of each assigned job.
Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer
Carry out on site root cause analysis on equipment failures.
Read, understand and apply the contents of all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI and other codes
or regulations pertaining to our industry. Refresh and update knowledge periodically.
Prepare proposals and pricing for customer repairs
Interact with customers and coworkers at a professional level, able to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team.
Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle and assets in a safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify supervisor of any deficiencies for resolution.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma and 2+ years of experience in Industrial Field Service or related field. Associate Degree in a technical field preferred. Power and electronic service background required. 3+ Years minimum Technical Service or Field Engineering background preferred. 3M soldering certification or experience with soldering of components on printed circuit boards preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
AC/DC Power Conversion and Control experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and maintain effective relationships with customers. Knowledge of Mechanical principles, electronics and AC/DC power distribution. Communication system knowledge. Ability to lift and move objects up to 70lbs. Ability to travel up to 20%, some nights and weekends. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuits. Ability to read and understand electrical and electronic schematics and mechanical drawings. Ability to configure and repair communication hardware and software. Basic knowledge of electronic components and circuits and how they function.

Vacation: 2 weeks of vacation per year (pro-rated for the first year depending on start date). 5-12 years of service, 3 weeks. 13+ years of service, 4 weeks.
Sick Leave: 5 days of Sick Leave per year. Pro-rated the first year after 90 days of service
Holidays: 10 paid holidays per year
SALARY: $25 - $32 an hour - Pay is determined based on skills, geographic location, internal equity, market/data analysis, number of years of prior relevant experience, degrees and/or certifications, technical assessment score, etc.
