Job Title: Investment Planning Senior Project Manager (PMP)
Location: Richmond, VA
Interview Type: Both Web Cam and In-Person Interview
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week onsite)
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- Project Management Experience: 15+ years of experience managing large-scale projects, particularly in IT technology procurement.
- Risk Management: Proven track record of performing project, vendor, and product risk assessments, and developing effective contingency strategies (10+ years).
- Financial Acumen: Ability to assess debt and financing strategies, along with experience in budget tracking and adherence (10+ years).
Certifications:
- Current PMP Certification: Must possess an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) OR a PM certification from VITA (Virginia Information Technologies Agency).
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Manage large-scale IT procurement projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful completion of all project phases.
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough project, vendor, and product risk assessments, and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
- Financial Management: Track and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
- Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance management.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities and fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Project Management Expertise: Solid understanding of software development life cycle models and expert knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management principles.
- Technical Understanding: Possess a balanced business/technical background to provide credible leadership to technology teams.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server), and hands-on working experience with Microsoft Project.
- Additional Knowledge:
- Familiarity with VITA CTP and ECOS/COVRamp processes.
- Experience with proposal development and business writing.
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and software systems (Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience managing cloud-based solutions for data management and analytics.
Preferred Skills:
- IT Infrastructure Delivery: Experience in IT Infrastructure delivery (networking, physical plant, vendor management, site provisioning).
