About the Job
This position will be expected to perform detailed technology research/evaluation work with minimal supervision and to collaborate with partner companies and open source projects as required to build SDN platform components.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum qualification:
BS in Computer Science/Engineering, or relevant engineering discipline/experience preferred.
9 years of experience in IP network engineering in service provider or large enterprise network.
Required Skills
Hands on experience or knowledge of various virtualization techniques
Strong software development experience in cloud orchestration/management products
Must have strong debugging and trouble shooting skills
Expertise in Agile development methodology and great understanding of DevOps
Experience or subject expert for Wired, Wireless and Cloud service provider management and service orchestration across broad range of products
Strong expertise in software architectures, scalability, reliability, web based applications and database development.
Good knowledge of networking technology: Layer 2 4 Protocols, network architectures, network function virtualization (NFV), software defined networking (SDN) controllers (such as ODL) and applications, OpenFlow, and virtualization
Strong knowledge of API design such as Netconf/YANG, RESTful API, XML APIs, and SNMP. Proven hands-on development experience in open source projects that enables cloud and/or virtualization technologies. Or able to demonstrate strong passion and knowledge of the related open source projects (OpenStack, CloudStack, OpenDaylight, CloudFoundry, KVM, Linux, etc.)
Excellent Linux Understanding (i.e. Systems Administration and Engineering expertise)
Experience in integration of multiple loosely-coupled systems is a plus
Demonstrated technical experience in OSS and NMS systems/architecture within telecommunications domain or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert for Fixed/Mobile/Cloud service provider management and service orchestration across a broad suite of products.
Extensive, knowledge and practical application experience working in advanced Management frameworks, preferably including those impacting IP Services, Multi-media and applications in SDN / NFV / Cloud context
Strong coding skills in C/Java/Python, with emphasis on writing modular, scalable code
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
