Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Department Manager to lead and grow our commercial and residential irrigation division. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for landscape irrigation, water management, and team development. You will oversee all aspects of the irrigation division, including installation, maintenance, and repair for both commercial and residential clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, project management, and technical expertise in irrigation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of irrigation technicians and staff.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the irrigation division, focusing on service quality, efficiency, and profitability.
- Set and track departmental goals, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of all irrigation projects (installations, maintenance, and repairs).
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
- Develop maintenance plans for irrigation systems and provide guidance on water-saving initiatives.
- Monitor inventory, equipment, and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial and residential clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, addressing concerns and providing solutions.
- Conduct site visits and develop customized irrigation solutions for clients.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the department’s budget, including cost estimation for projects.
- Monitor profitability, analyze financial performance, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Prepare and present regular reports to company leadership on project status and financial performance.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and enforce safety policies, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in irrigation management, including team leadership, commercial, and residential irrigation systems.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance, including pumps, controllers, valves, sprinklers, and drip irrigation systems.
- Certifications: IA (Irrigation Association) certification or similar credentials preferred.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams, managing operations, and driving growth in a division or department.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both clients and team members.
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control.
