Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Information Security team is responsible for proactively and reactively protecting CHLA from all security threats. This includes governance, exposure management, compliance, security training and awareness, and special security projects to enhance our security posture. We partner with teams across the organization and with other healthcare organizations to ensure we are following best practices, balancing the needs of the organization with proper security controls. The IS Program Manager, Sr. is responsible for leading, coordinating, and integrating various components of the Information Security Program. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of complex information security initiatives, including governance, risk management, compliance, metrics, business analysis, awareness training, and strategic execution. The IS Program Manager, Sr. ensures that all program activities align with CHLA policies and regulatory requirements, driving the overall success of the Information Security Program.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 7+ years of experience managing IS initiatives, systems, processes, and a range of important midsize-to-large projects with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality required. Experience in a healthcare or academic environment preferred.
• An in-depth understanding of information security, security policies, account security policies and standards for logical and physical security implementations.
• A basic knowledge of Regulatory Compliance as it affects healthcare and healthcare research
• A good understanding of the industry standard information security frameworks and control measures.
• A working knowledge of risk assessment as it is applied to information security.
• The ability to perform, manage and run information security audits.
• A sound understanding of security architecture and risk framework principles and concepts.
• Demonstrable experience in running a comprehensive security awareness program.
• Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision-making.
• Skills in developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, leadership, researchers, and physicians, by providing an open, collaborative management approach, and a commitment to teamwork.
• Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Skill in organizing work to achieve goals and objectives.
• Ability to collaborate and manage change in operational and business development areas.
• Must be able to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or HS Diploma/GED with 4+ years of work experience in related field, such as enterprise applications and/or infrastructure experience. Master’s Degree, PMI certification, or equivalent project management certification preferred. The following certifications are preferred:
• ISC2 CGRC – Governance, Risk and Compliance Certification
• ISC2 CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
• ISACA CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
• PMI PMP – Project Management Professional

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
