Position Description
The IT Assistant will work closely with the Director of IT to support all aspects of IT operations within the company. Key responsibilities include configuring new user accounts, setting up workstations, and troubleshooting technical issues for employees across all departments. The role requires providing support to staff at all levels, ensuring a high standard of service and efficiency. This position may involve occasional travel to other offices both within and outside of California. It is an on-site role and will require the IT Assistant to be present in the office at all times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
- Provide technical support to associates in local and remote locations via phone and internet/ screenshare.
- Installing and/or configuring upgrade and maintaining hardware and software and data transfers on a Windows environment.
- Support for peripherals such as printers, scanners, copiers, cameras, mobile phones, etc.
- Troubleshooting LAN hardware and software that may include file servers, routers, switches, wireless and telecommunications equipment.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
- Receive and respond to incoming requests for assistance regarding PC and/or hardware problems; provide training and support to staff on computer operation and other issues.
- 2-3 years of previous experience in an IT support role; experience troubleshooting in a Windows environment.
- Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including Microsoft platform.
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories; ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills; ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; strong customer-service orientation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy to moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate keyboard, mouse, hand power tools and to handle other computer components.
- Occasionally bend, reach and crawl under furniture.
- Ability to drive personal vehicle to local offices on occasion.
- Ability to travel out of state to perform new network set ups on occasion.
Salary range for position: $22/hr - $30/hr
