Description
The IT Business Consultant II provides demand management, business consultancy, project management and information technology-related services to assigned business clients of the IT Infrastructure’s Unified Communication and Collaboration (UCC) team of Conferencing Services . In addition, the IT Business Consultant II demonstrates program management and domain capabilities within Conferencing Services. Through ongoing consultation with business clients, the IT Business Consultant II identifies and analyzes business needs, influences and negotiates scope and requirements, and provides innovative recommendations for process changes and/or technology-enabled solutions. The IT Business Consultant II leads and manages IT projects within Conferencing Services, and in close partnership with Global Facilities and Engineering (GFE) from beginning to end, which includes defining project scope and deliverables that support Business goals and strategies. The IT Business Consultant II is responsible for engaging clients in analyzing, prioritizing and governing demand for IT services; accountable for all such IT services; and responsible for insuring that projects realize their intended Business benefits. Successful projects are expected to contribute to the overall performance of the Business.

This role is based out of our Ridgefield, CT location.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Business Consultancy: Influences IT-related business decisions through a consistent and direct engagement of clients at all levels in one business domain. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of that business domain, including key business processes, and develops an understanding of interactions with surrounding business domains, as well as in partnership with other enabling functions. Achieves influence through an acknowledged recognition of client needs and corresponding IT opportunities within the Conferencing solution space. Communicates with clients in business terms. Independently proposes improved business processes, and with supervision, proposes new business processes, introducing innovation where possible. Addresses all other aspects of the IT Business Partnering Business Consultancy role with Business and other Enabling Functions, such as Finance and Global Facilities and Engineering, to drive results cross-functionally.
+ Project Management: Independently for a small project and with supervision for a large project, plans, organizes and oversees resources to achieve the goals and objectives of that project. Addresses all other aspects of the IT Business Partnering Project Manager role, with ability to drive initiatives cross-functionally within Boehringer, including Business as well as Enabling Functions
+ Demand Management: Independently performs a liaison function between the business and internal providers of technical services. In close partnership with key business stakeholders, matches and independently prioritizes demands on IT services to maximize value to the business. Addresses all other aspects of the IT Business Partnering Demand Management role.
+ Domain Knowledge: Demonstrates Conferencing Services Domain capabilities as per IT Business Partnering Domain role and ability to consult the Business accordingly. Specifically familiar with Microsoft Teams Room technology domain and compatible conferencing hardware
+ Program Management: Demonstrates Program Management capabilities as per IT Business Partnering Program Management role within IT Infrastructure.
+ Ability to lead product teams and influence peers to achieve goals, 2 year experience as Product Owner or Scrum Master is required
Requirements
Bachelor/Master degree (or equivalent); progressive IT and business experience of 2-7 years is preferred.
Within IT, exposure to multiple areas, especially in IT Infrastructure and Enterprise Data and Platforms is a significant plus.
Advanced business process knowledge, and a demonstrated capability to apply technology solutions in addressing business issues. Experience directly working with Marketing & Sales or other Business-facing IT organizations as IT business partner is a significant plus.
Experience working with consultant resources and external creative and technical personnel in a fast-paced and complex project environment.
Previous experience managing business priorities and projects across multiple business areas, acting as IT lead.
Demonstrated project management capability based on the successful completion of multiple projects. Ideally projects on end-user technology, with large number of users impacted, and application of UX methodologies within projects.
Strong communication skills, and advanced relationship development and management capabilities.
Advanced foundation in and understanding of: 1) methodologies for system design, development, and implementation; 2) all phases of the Project Implementation life cycle; 3) validation and regulatory requirements. Preferred technical skills include the use of prototyping tools. Must be aware of current and new technologies & their applicability to the business.
Advanced data analytical skills, using data platforms and tools such as Power BI and other data visualization platforms are a requirement.
Ability to lead product teams and influence peers to achieve goals, 2 year experience as Product Owner or Scrum Master is required

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
+ Experience in Data and Platform with proven track record on microsoft 365 suite (SharePoing, Ms Teams)
+ Data visualization skills, preferrably familiar with Power Platform suite i.e. Mircosoft Power BI, at least 2 years
+ User Experience (UX) knowledge, preferrably via formal training / courses and on-the-job experience
+ Experience working globally, ideally with abroad experience of more than 2 years
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms technology both on software and hardware side
+ Product Ownership and or scrum master knowledge
+ Fluent in English. Additional foreign languages are a significant plus, emphasis on Spanish and German.
