Tuvli, an Akima company, is hiring for an IT Communications Technician to support our DoS client located in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
+ Network Engineering
+ Software defines file system (Sdfs)
+ Works with appropriate entities throughout the interagency partnership to determine CSO communications and IT needs
+ Configuration of IT devices such as blackberries, FOBs’, Video Teleconference Equipment, computers’ laptops, and other equipment as needed to meet SCRS requirements
+ Implementa system operating procedures for various administrative functions including adding and removing users from the network, building workstations and servers, managing/assigning system access privileges, and other IT services
+ Implements security requirements and procedures to ensure the networks are fully compliant with Department of State and Diplomatic Security standards
+ Provides technical consulting to include performing requirements analysis, providing solutions options, providing plans for implementing options and performing implementation strategy and developing implementation schedules for network-based projects
+ Corporate CSO IT Support
+ Supports the development of interagency communications requirements packages and systems based on an ongoing analysis of business needs
+ Provides specialized IT training to other technical staff as required
+ Assists in the acquisition and modifications of existing network security configurations
+ Supports Telecommunications (Secure Dial-In (SDI) and OpenNet Everywhere (ONE) programs.
+ Performs classic Tier 2 support to establish connections, obtaining technical information on IP addresses, telephone numbers, network, and line types, e.g., ISDN or Dial-up, and ensuring settings, baud rate for continuous video and audio feeds
+ Develops PC images, with the goal of standardizing installations, in close cooperation with software developers and Diplomatic Security to procure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain
+ Consolidates instructions for end-users’ utilization of OpenNet including for deployed personal outside of the embassy environment, referring only the most difficult problems to IRM for resolution
+ Supports end user requests for service on computer related malfunctions internal to CSO
+ Participates in inventory control processes including NEPA, ILMS, equipment moves, and equipment excess as required
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in the areas of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related field
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT setting where supervision of staff, customer service, customer liaison, problem reporting, problem analysis, problem solution, resource allocation, coordination, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting are required on an ongoing basis within pre-established parameters (Service Level Agreements (SLA), Memorandum of Understand (MOU), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), etc.
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience of IT principles, concepts, and methods with a focus on systems administration and customer service as well as skills in network engineering
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience of a wide variety of IT operating systems, applications and help desk software for administering a reconstruction and stabilization program enterprise that has significant user support requirements
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience of the methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, installing, adjusting, modifying, and improving client IT systems using performance enhancing tools.
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience of applicable Federal and Departmental regulations with a focus on information security provisions of Volumes five and twelve of the Foreign Affairs Manual to effectively administer CSO’s security program and coordinate security with issues with the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and with IRM and DS as appropriate
+ Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare memoranda, reports, and other written material
+ Active TS clearance
