About the Position
Our Consultant will support a variety of IT initiatives that require change management methods and applications. As a change management consultant, you'll use your expertise to assess how alternations will impact business processes and design to develop a clear transformation strategy with mission, vision, goals, service delivery principles, and value drivers.
Responsibilities may include:
- Support client project tasks from initiation to completion; help track timelines, capture status updates, lead knowledge capture, facilitate and contribute to client and team discussions, and help create frameworks that support desirable solutions
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data (through research, interviews, surveys, observation, etc.)
- Develop standard operating processes and procedures and assist with the development of workflows to capture the current state of the client mission and recommend best practice alternatives for a future state
- Identify and document key insights from client interactions and data collection to propose changes for organizational improvement
- Facilitate client discussions, lead stakeholder interviews and brief client deliverables
- Integrate information from Directorates and Divisions throughout the organization to facilitate easy access, sharing, and dissemination of information with internal business partners and external clients.
- Contribute to the development of strategic communications and campaign efforts
- Provide event planning support for interactive conferences, strategy meetings, working group sessions or other events; this may include helping to design the event, coordinating event logistics, facilitating discussions, and capturing knowledge (live) during the event to ensure people who never attended understand the big takeaways
- Build lasting relationships with clients while helping them dissect and solve problems
- Lead and support stakeholder interviews and other stakeholder engagement activities
- Provide project management support (to include managing resource-planning spreadsheets, working with senior-level consultants to refine project plans, performing quality control reviews on client deliverables, and drafting and submitting status reports to clients)
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret (preferred) or Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-5 years of experience with federal consulting with exposure to organizational management, strategic planning and execution, communications, change management, and facilitation
- Willingness to commute to client locations as needed, in and around the DC Metro area; occasional travel outside of the DC area
- Experience working with senior executives
- Ability to build strong working relationships and work diplomatically with others in various roles and levels
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks, prioritize as necessary, and deliver high-quality products, sometimes under tight deadlines
- Ability to execute administrative tasks, including tracking and organizing actions and facilitating meetings to support program productivity and effectiveness
- Strong verbal and written communications skills to organize information into well-written clear messages and compelling documents
- Ability to develop presentations and work products in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to collaboratively brainstorm and work with clients and Rockwood team while also having the ability to work independently from a home office, client site, and Rockwood office as required
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a tech environment, including digital transformations, IT modernization, or IT transformations
- Experience with applying industry best practices
- Strategy, Change Management, Process Improvement, Communications, or performance Management Certification
- Experience with leading and facilitating groups
