About the Job
The IT Desktop Support Technician will support IT activities in QUICKPIX retail convenience stores, restaurants and the corporate office in Rushville, IN. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to communicate clearly, pay attention to detail, follow instructions and be curious to learn each day. An ability to think outside of the box, have a variety of IT skills, and be able to work through difficult problems will assist immensely in this role. This position’s duties will touch troubleshooting and minor repairs for a variety of IT related equipment such as Point-of-Sale systems, back-office PCs, digital recording systems and cameras, and various other types of equipment found in retail and commercial fueling facilities. Herdrich Petroleum operates 21 QUICKPIX convenience stores in central eastern Indiana, in the cities of Richmond, Connersville, New Castle, Shelbyville, Milan, Versailles and more. This position will work out of the corporate office in Rushville, IN
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting users with Microsoft Office issues
• Troubleshooting and minor repair of computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals
• Resolving and training internal user problems and ensures correct operation of computer systems
• Troubleshoot, resolve network issues such as connectivity (LAN and WAN), switching, routing
• Installation & upgrades to various desktop operating systems including Windows 10 and 11
• Maintaining proper operation and “up time” of IT related systems
Working Conditions:
• Must have strong verbal communication skills
• Thorough understanding of basic computer/network concepts and terms
• Must have a valid Driver License, maintain a clean driving record, and can travel if needed
• Must be able to work independently, track progress and keep project notes updated
• Project management skills are helpful, as many projects involve ensuring that equipment from multiple vendors is properly working together
Education and Experience: Experience in an IT technical support role, IT helpdesk support or education in IT field of study
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Team player. Detail oriented to ensure accuracy of work. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must maintain a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor and dress. Prior experience in IT related to Retail, Service, or petroleum industries a plus, but not a requirement.
