Precision Resources, a division of the Trimarc Group Inc., is currently searching for an IT Disaster Recovery Engineer for a PERMANENT POSITION for one of our Birmingham, AL clients.
The qualified individual will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and reporting on the enterprise IT disaster recovery management program for the company. The objective of this program is to assist in building flexibility into and supporting recovery plans for IT systems following the occurrence of an IT outage, cyberattack, catastrophic technological failure or major physical incident resulting in the partial or complete disruption of business operations. This is a technical role with excellent communication skills both written and verbal needed to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and other recovery team members across the organization. This individual will need to assess, evaluate, and determine current state and translate business recovery plans into actionable test scripts under the direction of senior management.
This is a hybrid position REQUIRING WORKING ONSITE multiple days weekly located in Birmingham, AL.
Compensation
$140K - $160K
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and implementation of enterprise-wide resilience and IT Disaster Recovery programs, including policies, maturity models, methodologies, sourcing strategies, plans, metrics and scorecards for all components of the program.
- Coordinate, assess and communicate resilience and DR requirements and objectives associated with the current IT infrastructure environment, and participate in new activities with appropriate technology groups, resulting in recommendations to enable timely, effective decisions regarding IT infrastructure disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Serve as an active participant in all IT DR test activities. Collaborate with key IT staff members for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling and maintaining an effective DR testing plan.
- Remain updated and current on IT DR industry technologies, trends and best practices through education and training.
- Assist with the execution of the IT DR plan(s) when business or IT operations disruptions occur, in coordination with other members of the IT DR team.
- Review and report capacity planning metrics regarding IT infrastructure failure, resilience, and recovery scenarios with key IT technology groups in support of specific business departments initiatives for current and future initiatives, with a major focus on proactively ensuring an adequate IT DR network.
- Assist with event impact assessment and IT disaster declaration activities, as required.
- Responsible for addressing the IT operations recovery and resiliency needs of the entire company and must be prepared to work with individuals in many different disciplines, across IT and departments.
- The IT DR Engineer must be prepared to be on call at any time and will also be periodically expected to work off-hours to support IT disaster recovery test activities.
