About the Job
The Information Technology (IT) Engineer will be a member of an in-house information technology team, located in Indianapolis, IN, that supports the day-to-day technology needs of end users for Traditions Management and its Communities, Leo Brown Group, Grand Contracting and Grand Industrial. Responsibilities include but are not limited to phone calls, email, and Tier 2 & 3 trouble tickets with timely resolution of support requests either remotely or in-person/on-site with the ability to prioritize tasks based on level of severity and be flexible to sudden change of priorities. The IT Engineer will assist with regular routine and critical/out of band maintenance, updates, and patching of systems, servers, and networks. Travel is required, including out of state and over-night as deemed necessary for certain projects and should be prepared for different work environments such as office, construction site, industrial, healthcare, and hospitality environments.
The IT Engineer is tasked with several key duties, such as:
- Provide Tier 2 & 3 Help Desk support to Tier 1 internal staff and external customers across all four organizations utilizing telephony, email, and remote access into systems
- Provide mentorship to IT Specialist(s) including technical training and a culture of professionalism.
- Manage third party support of low voltage systems including phone systems (NEC, VOIP, and mobile), audio/video, CCTV, nurse call, magnetic door lock systems, cable, and internet.
- Preventative maintenance of cyber infrastructure including networking equipment, servers, access points, and firewalls throughout the organizational ecosystem.
- Assist in the development of departmental documentation including Policies and Procedures as well as functional support of data structure.
- Participate in culture of ongoing personal development and education.
- Support, management, and maintenance of remote networks including CISCO and Ubiquiti
- Routine maintenance and updates of computers including anti-virus updates and phishing.
- Assist in the development of organization’s comprehensive data loss prevention plan
- After hours support, on-call rotation.
- Must be able to work independently within a team dynamic setting priorities and meeting deadlines
The successful IT Engineeris a highly motivated, self-directed individual who will apply an entrepreneurial spirit and effective leadership style. The IT Engineeris expected to be experienced in using technological software and tools to support end-user and resolve issues timely and accurately. A bachelor’s degree in information technology, certifications, or a related field experience is preferred for this mid-level position. Work experience of three to five years in information technology and help desk environment and can demonstrate the practical training needed to meet the challenges of this position.
Preferred Skills are as follows:
- Customer service oriented, friendly demeanor, ability to stay calm under pressure
- Advanced Firewall Knowledge: Fortinet, Sophos preferred but not required
- Infrastructure/Network Knowledge: Ubiquiti, Cisco preferred but not required
- Server Support Experience: Active Directory, Azure
- Advanced-level Microsoft365 knowledge with expertise in Exchange and Teams
- SharePoint: creation and maintenance of sites and content
- Helpdesk support: Tier 2 & 3 with end-user training
- Mobile device support including Android and iOS-based devices
- VOIP telephony support
- ConnectWise or similar help desk tracking program
Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)
- This position is not remote, required onsite, in-office attenance in Indianapoli, IN.
- This position is salaried and may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
- 50-70% travel required with some overnight stays
- After hours support, on-call rotation, for emergencies only
Preferred Qualifications are as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or Certification, and/or three to five years related experience.
