Job Description:
- Under broad supervision, performs medium to complex administrative duties and statistical, financial, or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision-making in functional areas.
- Identifies trends, discrepancies, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- May partner with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and vendors to address business issues.
- Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment.
- May administer or provide high-level support for various projects, contracts, implementation of procedures, and/or any specialized functions.
- Assists with orientation, training, or providing task guidance of junior team members.
- Provides strategic analysis.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Serves as subject matter expert or organization resource for assigned projects
- Assists in the development of standards and procedures used in the implementation or enhancement of systems
- Consults with functional and technical staff to ensure that the functionality of automated systems meets user requirements
- Documents business processes for users
- Schedules, facilitates, and records meetings and meeting outcomes
- May develop and deliver training as needed
- Serve as liaison between functional and technical teams in the implementation or enhancement of systems
- Provides end-user support as needed to troubleshoot issues
- Works collaboratively with customer service agents to ensure accurate responses to end user inquiries
- Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data
- May participate as a member of internal committees to assess policies, procedures and programs
- Prepares and presents various project artifacts including presentations, meeting notes, business process flow diagrams,
- May perform initial system configuration for testing various business proofs of concept
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to guide discussions to capture business requirements and offer solutions
- Capable of interpreting business insights to develop technical solutions
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and work collaboratively to develop recommendations
- Ability to determine priorities and effectively manage time
This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the selectee's education and experience at one of the following levels:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of related experience; or
- Two (2) years of experience at the lower level
- IT Business Analyst 1 (ITP060) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:
- Experience with state or public sector organizations
- Experience with large-scale business transformation projects
- Highly organized, proactive, self-starter .
