POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Manager works closely with the Director of IS to align network solutions with Credit Union goals. This role involves leading the network team, managing workflow, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. The manager is also responsible for staff development through training, coaching, and mentoring, as well as implementing backup strategies and cross-training programs to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, the Network Manager serves as the primary expert for network-related issues, providing guidance, support to the team and is the primary point of contact for all management communication.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership & Management: Provide robust leadership for the network team, ensuring effective delegation and distribution of tasks. Oversee the successful completion of tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
- Workflow Administration: Manage department workflow, including compiling and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly reports to monitor work volume and performance.
- Staff Development: Responsible for training, coaching, mentoring, and appraising team members. Develop the team by identifying strengths and weaknesses and implementing development plans.
- Backup & Cross-Training: Recommend and implement effective backup strategies and cross-training programs to ensure seamless work allocation within the team.
- Expert Support: Act as the primary point of contact for network-related questions and issues, providing expert guidance and support.
- Computer Systems Supervision: Oversee daily operations of computer systems, including hardware and software support, user training, and special projects.
- Maintaining network servers within a Windows environment and managing the virtualized server infrastructure.
- Microsoft Administration Support: Handle administrative tasks for Microsoft systems, including the Office Suite, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- Server Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Develop and execute regular maintenance tasks, perform necessary updates and configuration to ensure server availability and performance, and troubleshoot and diagnose server-related issues.
- Software Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure software on both servers and workstations.
- Network and System Security Management: Oversee and ensure the security of network and system infrastructure.
- WAN and LAN Management: Plan, design, implement, control, and monitor WAN and LAN systems, including managing SD-WAN network security (both internal and external) through user specifications, activity tracking systems, and software security options.
- Networking and Telecommunication Systems: Design, support, maintain, and evaluate networking and VoIP telecommunication systems such as Cisco Webex and Cisco Webex Contact Center.
- Data Backup System Management: Monitor and maintain the data backup system to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Hardware Inventory Management: Keep an up-to-date inventory of all hardware.
- Network Systems Management: Install, maintain, and configure network systems, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Documentation Management: Develop and maintain administrative and technical documentation for system configuration, maintenance, and processes.
- Office Equipment Management: Oversee and maintain desktop computers, printers, and other miscellaneous office equipment such as but not limited to check scanners, ID scanners and receipt printers.
- End-User Technical Support and Training: Deliver technical support and training to end users across all locations.
- Technology Innovation: Research, recommend, and implement new technologies.
- Vendor and Consultant Collaboration: Collaborate with external vendors and consultants on designated projects.
- Provides service that aligns with the Credit Union’s mission of passionately delivering relevant products, services, and education tailored to help our members, employees, and communities achieve their financial goals.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and laws enforced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Qualifications
- 10 years as system administrator in multi-server, multi-platform, and multi–office environments preferred.
- Desired technical skills: Windows 2016/19/22 servers, Windows desktops/workstations, VMWare, VPN, Exchange server/Active Directory, MS Office applications, Cisco & Arista routers/switches/firewalls, LAN/WAN technologies, network back-up and anti-virus systems, and Cisco Webex.
- Experience supporting security systems including wireless networks (Specifically Ubiquiti), wireless phones /PDA devices, VPN and multi-factor authentication.
- Excellent verbal & written & interpersonal communication skills: must be able to establish & maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the company, vendors, and contractors.
- Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
- Highly motivated and self-directed.
- Demonstrated project management skills including development of project timelines, team assignment, project updates, and on-time completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience, with relevant Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE) and Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) certifications preferred
- Highly preferred certifications: CCNA/ CCNP, MCSE/MCIPT, VMware
- Strong understanding of UNIX based operating systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects, tasks and responsibilities
- Availability for occasional travel to other locations.
- May work additional/irregular hours, including weekends, nights, or holidays, as needed or requested
- Ability to work effectively with a group of people with diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Occasional travel may be expected.
