We’re looking for an IT Manager (aka The Tech Operations Leader) to oversee all aspects of IT operations, manage infrastructure projects, and support a secure, efficient digital environment.
As an IT Manager at our client, you’ll work closely with executive leadership, support team members in their development, and align IT initiatives with business objectives. Your role will be instrumental in driving technology strategies, managing resources, and ensuring that systems and networks are reliable and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee IT Operations and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including network administrators, helpdesk support, and systems administrators. You’ll oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and secure IT support across the organization.
- Develop and Implement IT Strategy:
- Work with executive leadership to create an IT roadmap that aligns with business goals. You’ll plan and execute technology initiatives that drive efficiency, enhance security, and support organizational growth.
- Manage IT Infrastructure and Systems:
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of all IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and software applications. You’ll optimize systems to support seamless operations and future scalability.
- Oversee Security Protocols and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce security protocols to protect against cyber threats. You’ll manage data protection, access controls, and regulatory compliance, ensuring a secure IT environment.
- Coordinate IT Projects and Budget Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects, from upgrades and migrations to new system implementations. You’ll manage budgets, resources, and timelines to achieve project milestones efficiently.
- Enhance Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans. You’ll prepare the organization for potential disruptions and ensure quick recovery for critical systems and data.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, negotiating contracts and evaluating solutions that support IT initiatives. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business needs.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills with experience managing IT teams, fostering a positive culture, and developing technical talent.
- Strategic Planning and Project Management: Ability to create and implement IT strategies, manage projects, and align technology initiatives with business goals.
- IT Infrastructure Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
- Security and Compliance Knowledge: Proficiency in data protection protocols, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and security standards.
- Vendor and Budget Management: Experience managing IT budgets, negotiating with vendors, and evaluating new technology solutions.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience in IT management may be considered.
- Certifications in IT management or project management (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CompTIA IT Management) are advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT management or a similar leadership role, with a strong track record of managing teams and optimizing IT operations.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems is an asset.
