Description:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Event Administrator to oversee the planning, execution, and management of IT infrastructure for events. This role involves coordinating with vendors, managing project timelines, and providing on-site technical support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT networking, including DHCP and WiFi router setup, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):
•Plan, configure, and deploy IT infrastructure for events, including setting up DHCP servers, Wi-Fi routers, and other networking equipment.
•Conduct on-site surveys in various areas with vendors to determine how services can be effectively brought to the location where needed for events.
•Coordinate with wireless service providers such as T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T prior to events to confirm cell tower capacity and load for optimal network performance.
•Develop detailed project plans for IT event support, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
•Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all project requirements are met.
•Identify and evaluate potential vendors for IT equipment and services.
•Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery, setup, and support of IT infrastructure for events.
•Configure and manage DHCP servers and Wi-Fi routers to ensure reliable network connectivity.
•Provide field support for IT setups, including hardware and software installations, network configuration, and troubleshooting.
•Provide on-site technical support during events to ensure smooth operation of IT systems.
•Troubleshoot and resolve any IT issues that arise during events.
•Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
•Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for event IT setups, including network diagrams and configuration settings.
•Prepare post-event reports detailing IT performance, issues encountered, and recommendations for future improvements.
•Oversee internet services, including managing internet service providers at NYRR's three office locations.
•Provide desktop and network support at NYRR's three office locations, as well as for events as needed.
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current IT networking technologies, best practices, and emerging trends in the IT industry.
•Evaluating, negotiating with, and managing relationships with vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
•5+ years of experience in IT support, with a focus on event technology and infrastructure management.
•Project management, including developing and managing project plans and coordinating with vendors and teams.
•Hands-on experience with configuring and managing IT networking equipment such as DHCP servers and Wi-Fi routers.
•Experience in vendor management, including contract negotiation and relationship maintenance.
•Experience with fixed wireless Point-to-Point solutions.
•Event Management Experience (a plus): Familiarity with overseeing IT infrastructure in support of event management, including large-scale events (e.g. industry conferences, sporting venues, etc.)
•Experience with Cisco Meraki, Fortinet firewalls, and Cellular-enabled routers such as Cradlepoints is a plus.
