About the Job
We are looking for an IT Principal Analyst who works with DevOps resources, architects, developers/engineers, testers, and other cross-functional resources to create, support, and maintain technical processes, documentations and help achieve and maintain compliance with state and federal client audit requirements. The IT Principal Analyst will also be responsible for managing TechOps projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineering and technical resources to design and draft solution documentations to technical problems
- Document functional and non-functional system requirements including technical design of the systems in compliance with the FedRAMP, SOX, GDPR, Security, and other compliance requirements
- Maintain technical design and system control document repository to support client and government audit requirements and ensure regular review and update of the documentation to maintain their up-to-date status
- Support DevOps, Architecture, Analytics, Automation, QA, and Engineering teams with the design or modification of business systems or information technology (IT) systems
- Ensure and review that the technical requirements are understood and translated to system design and procurement requirements that are consistent with technical framework and standards with inputs from respective subject matter experts
- Create, document, and maintain technical requirements documents (including workflows and graphics in Microsoft Visio or complementary technology and Microsoft PowerPoint to represent processes and/or solution concepts), and other reference documents
- Assist with the creation, review, and management of change requests (CR) and gate keep review and approval processes
- Assist in the development of technical reports, dashboards, processes, and presentation materials
- Work comfortably within waterfall or agile project methodology to manage or support TechOps projects and maintain portfolio updates including budget and resource tracking
- Create, maintain, and update standardized documentation templates, procedures, design specifications, and other related documents
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience managing technology projects.
- Experience supporting systems, engineering, and application development teams.
- Experience supporting cloud security compliance requirements.
- Experience in soliciting and documenting requirements, technical writing, and document preparation.
- Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive communication skills with multi-site-located team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and structured analysis skills.
- Experience in conducting systems analysis using design methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts.
- Ability to communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications - verbally or through written documentation - to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite of apps (including Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI) and other design and project management tools.
- Demonstrated success in client/customer support.
- Experience as Senior Business Systems Analyst on an infrastructure/DevOps/Engineering projects.
- Experience working under Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies.
- High-level knowledge and experience supporting systems/apps, systems processes, and landscape including cloud (SaaS, AWS, etc.).
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
- Professional certifications in disciplines such as, Agile, Project Management, Change Management, Business Analysis, etc. (e.g., SAFe, Certified Scrum Master, Project Management Professional, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in presentation and facilitation skills.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
