About the Job
Responsible for managing Jack in the Box and Del Taco's enterprise contract process, vendor relationship and category management functions for all enterprise and restaurant technology-related software, hardware, and professional services; maintain continuous supply or services at the best possible price consistent with acceptable quality, quantity, technical standards, sourcing reliability, including assuring the timeliness of services and/or delivery and accuracy of orders. Provide leadership for category procurement and drive high impact initiatives to deliver our technology vision with speed and efficiency.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages technology-related spend including software, hardware, and technology professional services to minimize company and franchisee costs and reduce potential risk to the organization. Strategically evaluates and manages the supplier selection process including the issuance of request for proposals and the resulting analyses of the proposals. Negotiates, approves, and qualifies vendors within limits of authority. Ensures that strategic supplier sourcing methods, inclusive of the identification, evaluation, and recommendation of global sources of product and/or services, are developed and implemented to support effectively evolving business requirements.
• Executes strategic sourcing events to support the technology goals, ensuring appropriate engagement of cross-functional staff, stakeholders, and impacted individuals (internal and external), that yields measurable year-over-year improvement in cost and quality to support ongoing business and new strategic priorities. Identify cost optimization opportunities across the company and present concise business case/plan to stakeholders.
• Develops and establishes technology sourcing frameworks and procurement procedures and processes that balance cost, risk, and agility. Engage key stakeholders to understand business drivers, demand, risk appetite, and other factors that influence the development of the technology sourcing strategy.Performs validation and reconciliation of reports from multiple systems.
• Provides proactive, high-value procurement and contract negotiation consultation to key business stakeholders through deep understanding of the business needs and industry knowledge and expertise. Lead the negotiation strategy for all technology-related contracts. Lead the evaluation of optimal sourcing and pricing options, taking into consideration outsourcing/cloud, hybrid, insourcing models.
• Manages business relationship with the supplier community. Enables product innovation by working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful cross-functional execution for new products and/or services. Identifies new suppliers that support strategic innovation; manages existing suppliers to bring innovation to their products and/or services, efficiencies to their processes, value engineering and continuous improvement to systems and costs within their organizations; manages alternative product/service sources and ensures standards are met across vendors. Develops supplier metrics that identify strengths and opportunities to improve performance; tracks vendor performance and identifies areas of improvement.
• Maintains awareness of global macro-economic factors that directly impact the company's procurement cost and works to proactively develop alternate sourcing strategies to prevent any negative impact to purchasing operations. Performs supply risk assessments of raw materials, production, suppliers, regulatory issues, economic and other issues to identify trends and opportunities; assesses data; creates strategic plans to improve cost and ensure supply.
• Manages cross functional projects and relationships to ensure all appropriate projects have necessary crossfunctional representation, inclusive of franchise involvement. Communicates and involves appropriate franchise and company personnel to obtain proactive input, to ensure project parameters are effectively established. Provides timely and thorough updates to appropriate franchise and company personnel to ensure ongoing project alignment and that feedback is received and acted upon as appropriate.
• Depending on category complexity, manages various technology-related categories as assigned, totaling approximately $50MM-$100MM.
• Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, IT, Supply Chain, Finance or related field.
Experience - 6+ years related IT purchasing experience, preferably in a foodservice chain headquarters procurement organization.

• Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications (Microsoft Office preferred).
• Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel).
• Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements: Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to type on a computer keyboard. Ability to travel to various locations approximately 20-25% of time as business needs require.
The range for this position is $96,600 - $135,200 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
