About the Job
ASRC Agile Decision Sciences (ADS), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, has a great opportunity for an IT Project Manager with experience managing web applications to become a part of the support team for NASA. The role will support the development and maintenance of a custom financial management tool. In this role, the candidate will engage with customers at NASA to gather requirements, provide recommendations on solutions, and effectively communicate project status. Additionally, this role will provide leadership to a team of software engineers and serve as a liaison between the software team and customer.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders at NASA headquarters in Washington, DC to gather requirements, define project goals, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
* Lead application development team to ensure delivery of products that meet the project requirements, track deliverables, and serve as a liaison between the application development team and stakeholders.
* Ensure effective communication and training for all stakeholders.
* Ensure that all project deliverables meet high-quality standards. Ensure regularly conducted data reviews and the integrity of the data is maintained.
* Provide regular project updates to leadership, including status reports, progress metrics, and performance evaluations.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to minimize impact on project delivery. Proactively address issues and implement solutions.
Please note: The candidate selected will need to live within a reasonable commutable distance to Washington, DC as the majority of the engagements will be held at NASA Headquarters.
Desired Skills
* Experience with the government accounting and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.
* Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile) and change management processes.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
* Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Applicant will have the opportunity to work directly with stakeholders and a team of developers.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired.
* Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
* Related experience or knowledge in ColdFusion and relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server) is beneficial.
Education
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Four (4) years of additional project management experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
* Experience in software engineering field is required. Majority of projects will involve programming using a variety of technologies and all aspects of software development, including creating code, querying database tables, user interface design, testing, validation, and error checking.
