About the role: You will be working in our Austin, TX location responsible for overseeing Capitol Services’ IT projects from initiation to completion. This role involves working a hybrid schedule and full time, Monday through Friday.
What you will do:
- Lead multiple projects from initiation to completion
- Demonstrate basic project management skills, including, but not limited to, managing tasks, resources, scope, and budget
- Effectively communicate with business stakeholders, including IT management and executive leaders, to keep projects aligned with departmental and company goals
- Communicate with coworkers and others in a timely, effective, and professional manner
- Prepare, oversee, and maintain project performance and schedules
- Lead regularly scheduled meetings to discuss progress, milestones, and risks
- Perform quality control on projects throughout stages of development and maintain expected standards
- Implement IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Identify and resolve project issues and mitigate risk
- Create long and short-term project plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
- Compile and provide status reports for stakeholders as may be required
Who you are:
- Requirements: You are eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and reside in Austin, TX. C2C will not be considered for this position.
- Experienced: You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
- IT Project Management expertise: You have 4+ years’ experience leading and managing IT and business projects. You have experience working with IT teams. You have knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, and data storage systems.
- Technical competencies: You have experience working with Jira and Confluence. You have excellent knowledge of AGILE methodology. You are comfortable using Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and interacting with Adobe PDF documents.
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Excellent organizational and time management skills: You have the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects/assignments. You have excellent attention to detail and exhibit a reasonable sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication skills: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You communicate in both a professional and friendly manner with coworkers.
- Adaptable: You are eager to use new tools and learn new processes and technologies. You can adapt to changing priorities while working in a fast-paced and high-stress environment. You have strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges that may arise.
- Coachable: You have the ability to retain and implement instruction and training. You are open to learn and navigate our current processes and systems. You are not afraid to ask questions.
- Positive attitude: You demonstrate a positive attitude. You are courteous and polite, especially when navigating through difficult conversations, problems, or complaints that may arise.
- Team player: You are able to work in both a team and independent setting. You tend to foster support and dependability towards your peers while also getting your individual tasks done within specific time constraints.
- Reliable: You are able to work during our regular business hours at your assigned location. You are a punctual individual and able to follow an assigned work schedule. You are able to maintain client confidentiality at all times.
- Office environment: You are able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
