We are seeking a driven and adaptable candidate to take on a leadership role within our IT Security Team. You will be responsible for leading the internal security team as well as managing third party security partners. You will protect our company and maintain a secure work environment. This position will be a full-time position for our Livonia, MI location or fully remote for the right candidate. In this position you will be required to develop, implement, and manage the organization's information security strategy in tandem with other IT leaders.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage the information security team, setting goals and objectives, and provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Oversee the company's incident response planning and the investigation of security breaches. Assist with oversight and materiality matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
- Maintain policies, procedures, and emergency response plans while ensuring all employees know their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure security program compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Coordinate with other departments to align security measures across the organization.
- Communicate to the business and leadership on all security related items.
- Manage the company's information security risk assessment process, including the reporting and oversight of treatment efforts to address negative findings.
- Work with the company's IT department to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration of IT systems and applications.
- Promote security awareness and training programs across the organization.
- Produce reports on security health for the organization as well as a roadmap outlining efforts to further our security posture.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, a related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years of proven experience in IT security leadership) and certification (CISSP, CSM, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and application security.
- Experience with security systems and tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, PAM, IAM).
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
- Excellent time management with the ability to multitask.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and familiarity with regulatory requirements including SOX, HIPAA, and PCI
- Experience with emergency response planning and incident management.
- Ability to adapt to new security threats and technologies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
