IT Sr. Business Analyst - Materials & Construction - New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc.

The IT Sr. Business Analyst is a technology partner for the New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. (NESL) Materials and Construction lines of business. The Analyst works as an internal consultant with key business users to select, implement, and support applications and technology required to meet business objectives.

The Analyst covers a broad set of application areas including: Sales, Dispatch & Logistics, Trucking & Telematics, Estimating & Costing, Maintenance & Repair, and Business Analytics.

Location and Schedule: This position is assigned to the NESL Corporate office located in New Enterprise, PA. The Analyst is a collaborative, customer facing contributor who will spend 3-4 days per week in the office with other team members with the option to work from home the remaining days. Travel to plants, work sites, or other area offices to learn and understand business objectives and processes, or provide training and system go-live support will be required from time to time. Travel may involve overnight stays – including multiple days.

IT Sr. Business Analyst - Materials & Construction - What Will You Do?

Business Analysis / Quality Assurance

• Develop and demonstrate an understanding of customer and business needs.
• Identify technology projects for process, efficiency, and cost improvements. Perform cost-benefit/ROI analysis to evaluate potential projects. Create the charter, budget, and high-level requirements for projects as part of the project intake process.
• Work as part of a cross functional team including Project Managers, Business Users, other IT Staff, and Third-Party Vendors to deliver technology projects.
• Perform business process modeling, process engineering.
• Create and maintain business and functional requirements.
• Produce wireframes and flow diagrams to describe user / system interactions.
• Construct test strategies/plans/scripts to validate and verify project deliverables and system upgrades.
• Prepare training materials and facilitate training sessions with system users. Coordinate User Acceptance testing for all projects.

Application Support

• Provide functional and technical support for Analyst’s assigned systems and business units.
• Escalate system & application issues to outside vendors as needed and ensure their timely resolution.
• Develop plans to implement and/or support new product/service releases and ensure they are managed according to the NESL Policy.

Other

• Represent the needs/priorities of the business organization in any IT meeting.
• Serve as the owner of third-party relationships for external vendors/partners as needed.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and required.

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in IT Support, Systems Implementation, Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, Project Management, or similar.
• Demonstrated experience working as a member of a cross functional project team.
• Ability to perform business process modeling and derive models into business and functional system requirements.
• Experience with the Microsoft suite of office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Experience in Highway Construction and Material Sales is a plus.
• Experience in JD Edwards, HCSS product suite, and Command Alkon product suite is a plus.
• System modeling, data modeling, report writing tools, and SQL knowledge a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines while keeping identified stakeholders updated of project's status/deliverables.
• Must demonstrate a high degree of professional reliability and accountability.
