Job Overview
As an IT Support Instructor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality instruction in IT fundamentals, preparing students to obtain industry-recognized certifications, including CompTIA A+ and Network+. You will guide learners through hands-on labs, theoretical lessons, and real-world scenarios to build the foundational skills necessary for entry-level IT support roles. Your role involves creating a supportive learning environment, mentoring students, and ensuring their success in mastering the core IT support concepts.

Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver engaging, comprehensive instruction on the CompTIA A+ and Network+ curriculum, focusing on IT support fundamentals, hardware, networking, troubleshooting, and security concepts.
Design, plan, and execute hands-on labs that provide students with practical experience in areas such as hardware installation, software configuration, network setup, and problem-solving.
Evaluate student progress through assessments, quizzes, and lab exercises, providing timely and constructive feedback to ensure understanding and retention of key concepts.
Support students in preparing for the A+ and Network+ certification exams by offering test-taking strategies, study sessions, and one-on-one guidance.
Update instructional materials to stay aligned with current industry standards and technology advancements.
Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, critical thinking, and the application of IT knowledge to real-world problems.
Work closely with curriculum developers and other instructors to improve course content and delivery methods based on student feedback and industry changes.
Assist students with career advice, emphasizing the job roles, skills, and certifications that lead to successful IT support careers.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, progress, and certification outcomes.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with CompTIA A+ and Network+ content areas, including hardware, networking, operating systems, mobile devices, and troubleshooting techniques.
CompTIA A+ and Network+ certified (required).
Previous experience teaching or training individuals in IT support or a related field.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to learners at various skill levels.
Familiarity with hands-on lab environments, virtual labs, or simulators used for teaching IT support topics.
Ability to engage students with different learning styles and foster a collaborative, supportive learning atmosphere.
Problem-solving mindset with a passion for helping students succeed in their certification goals and future careers.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
