- The IT Support Specialist is primarily responsible for providing support to all com end-users at various sites in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area.
- Some (vehicular) travel may be required to nearby cities outside the city of Dallas and Ft. Worth i.e. (Mesquite, Farmers Branch, Desoto, Lancaster, Forney, Carrolton, McKinney, etc.).
- Tasks will include tracking, troubleshooting, and resolving end-user computer issues related to the Windows 10 upgrade to Windows 11 Enterprise. Additionally, this role will support and assist other IT functions, as needed.
- The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, deep technical knowledge in the required fields, critical thinking, self-starter, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Troubleshoot & resolve Windows 10 and Windows 11 upgrade issues
- Manually install Windows 11 as required when/if the upgrade fails
- Re-image end-user devices as required as it relates to the upgrade should a device fail on a Windows 11 platform
- Deploy and installed a replacement desktop or laptop with Windows 11 when/if required to replace a failed device as a result of the upgrade
- Support end user queries/issues as it relates to Windows 11 new features when/if required
- Perform installations, replacements, imaging, manual upgrades (when required), and other hardware/software related tasks as needed
- Assist existing Desktop Support technicians with issues regarding the Windows 11 upgrade when required
- Assist with creating FAQs and Support documentation on lessons learned
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (i.e., 7+ years' experience in an IT technical role)
- 7+ years' experience in desktop hardware, operating systems, smartphones, and printers.
- 7+ years' experience in Microsoft products (Windows, Office, Outlook, etc.)
- A+ Certification or other similar Microsoft certifications a plus
- Experience supporting OS upgrades such as Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Basic knowledge of network hardware including firewalls, routers, access points, bridges, switches, patch panels a plus
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with the ability to perform under intense scrutiny
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on executive level support
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
- Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong customer-service orientation with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Highest degree of professionalism and integrity
- Ability to research and test new technologies and solutions
- Time management and organizational skills
