SUMMARY:
The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration, implementation and support of a variety of platforms and operating systems within the company IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and support laptops, including security software (antivirus/antimalware), patching, and preventative maintenance such as disk system support, hardware support, and business applications support.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS, including provisioning, monitoring and maintenance of resources.
- Manage and support servers and storage devices in Azure and AWS, including security software (antivirus/antimalware), patching, and preventative maintenance (server updates, operating system support, hardware support, and other business applications).
- Set up new employee accounts, install and ship laptops, and onboard new team members. Remove system access and coordinate retrieval and return of equipment for former team members.
- Manage backups of O365, including test backups and restore for testing, as well as restoring missing files as requested.
- Provide staff training on O365, Adobe, Windows 10 and 11.
- Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets.
- Assist with installing new applications/software.
- Analyze and assess existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure cloud environments are secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations, implementing best data protection and privacy practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring clear and accessible information for the team
- Work closely with other team members to support and deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
- Assist in managing the inventory of assets, including software, hardware, and licenses
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system analysis and/or technical support
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or similar
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) and AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge and server administration experience including the configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Azure
- Experience with and able to troubleshoot, administer and maintain enterprise virtualization, email, storage, systems management and other infrastructure related resources
- Experience supporting network accounts and access, e-mail access, desktop virus protection, desktop operating system patches, desktop hardware configurations, backup and recovery and voicemail systems
- Ability to work under stress and resolve system issues quickly
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) and AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are highly desirable.
