Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity, the IT Systems Administrator will focus on desktop support, server management, desktop and cloud application support, plus cloud and network infrastructure. This role interfaces internally with all IPA staff and externally with consultants and vendors. The right candidate will be an IT player-coach who is passionate about building a world class IT organization that drives operational efficiencies through ITIL best practices, automation, and customer (employee) centricity. Provides support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop, or network services for local and remote personnel. This position will act as the escalation point for the IT Helpdesk support staff and be responsible for primary oversight of the IPA Helpdesk.
Essential Job Functions and Basic Duties
1. Provide technical support for corporate office and remote users including:
- Domain (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Azure AD, etc.)
- E-mail (Office365)
- Laptops, desktops, and tablets
- Hyper-V
- Network (routers, switches)
- VOIP Phone System
- Cellular phones
- Access Control & Camera Systems
- General Office equipment
2. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software.
- Familiar with all hardware and software in use at IPA.
- Familiar with network equipment in use at IPA.
- Assist network users in accessing network resources and operating software programs.
- Provide individual training and support on request.
- Ensure inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources are kept current.
3. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
- Supports the help desk and support functions of the IT Department.
- Act as escalation point for troubleshooting of technology issues.
- Connect and setup hardware as needed.
- Provide network accounts and passwords as required.
- Assist in monitoring security of all technology.
- Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate.
- Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Reviews and improves existing software and equipment.
- Provide in-office and remote general desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile phone hardware and operating system support.
- Troubleshoot common software packages installed on end-user equipment.
- Assist end-users with cloud application support and non-admin related tasks.
- Unbox and configure new equipment, or reconfigure used equipment, for new hires and temps, and perform all non-admin configuration tasks.
- Setup computer related equipment at the corporate office, assist end-users with new system installations, and rearrange equipment within the corporate facility.
- Help maintain the asset database of all IT equipment and mobile phones.
- Monitor and keep updated the Helpdesk support request system utilized by the IPA IT department.
- Work with the IT Systems and Software Administrator to keep the IT storage room organized and stocked with common replacement equipment needed by end-users (mice, keyboards,cables, chargers, etc.)
- Help with all audio and visual equipment end-user requests or conference room needs.
- Ship IT equipment and mobile phones to new hires and collect IPA belongings from terminated employees and temps.
- Assist senior-level IT staff and/or Director of IT & Cybersecurity with other day-to-day operations of the IT functions and duties.
- Adhere to established security safeguards, procedures, and other Company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Addional Responsabilities
- Assists the Director of IT & Cybersecurity with the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures for any IT needs of the company.
- Acts as the escalation point for any IT issues.
- Oversees all employee IT related onboarding, change, and offboarding system and access tasks.
- Coordinates new employee IT orientations.
- Monitors and manages all cybersecurity applications and policies put in place to safeguard company data and systems.
- Reports and documents any system and data breaches, plus performs all following up steps as specified in related procedural documents.
- Meets with IT team to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
- Adjusts hours of work, priorities, and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.
- Reviews daily system and back-up logs and reports to detect recurring slowdowns or errors.
- Consults with software and hardware vendors and IPA team members to solve problems impeding computer processing.
- Meets with users to determine quality of service and identify needs.
- Meets with necessary take holders to determine impact of proposed changes in hardware or software on computer operations and service to users.
- Evaluates new software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility with existing software and hardware.
- Evaluates proposed system projects to assess adequacy of existing hardware and recommends purchase of equipment.
- Plan and execute application strategy, hosting strategy, and data protection strategies.
- Performs server and network device replacements and restores.
- Works with the Director of IT & Cybersecurity to develop budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
- Effectively communicates with peers, team members, customers (internal and external), suppliers, and technical staff.
- Ensure performance evaluations and counseling sessions are conducted in a timely and constructive manner.
- Translate company objectives and production into action plans. Interprets company policies to team members and enforces safety regulations.
- Work with Human Resources Department to hire, train, and develop IT support personnel in the execution of their responsibilities.
- Coordinates duties and activities of IT team to meet production requirements.
- Adheres to established security safeguards, procedures, and other Company policies.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience
- Five or more years related leadership experience in diverse corporate Information Technology environment.
- Management experience in directing both daily operations and major project work.
- Direct leadership roles in launching new systems, hardware, and processes.
- General/Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows products (desktop, servers, Azure), Linux variants (CentOS, RedHat, Debian), Ubiquiti and Cisco network equipment is required.

- Ability to manage Office 365 and Azure environments
- Must be customer service oriented.
Physical Requirements
- Visual and hearing acuity to perform job-related functions.
- Ability to be in a seated position for a minimum of eight hours per day.
- Frequently required to use their hands and arms.
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
