Job Description:Hybrid in Virginia or North Carolina
The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our organization's IT systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:System Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure IT systems.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements.
Infrastructure Management:
- Administer and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the organization's data and IT assets.
- Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the helpdesk team to escalate and resolve complex problems.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other IT teams and departments to understand business needs and provide effective IT solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to ensure seamless integration of IT systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of system and network administration, including proficiency with operating systems, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with security best practices and the ability to implement and manage security measures.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework
