Job Description:

Hybrid in Virginia or North Carolina

The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our organization's IT systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

1. System Design and Implementation:

   • Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure IT systems.
   • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements.

2. Infrastructure Management:

   • Administer and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
   • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.

3. Security and Compliance:

   • Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the organization's data and IT assets.
   • Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations.

4. Troubleshooting and Support:

   • Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.
   • Collaborate with the helpdesk team to escalate and resolve complex problems.

5. Documentation:

   • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
   • Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.

6. Collaboration:

   • Work closely with other IT teams and departments to understand business needs and provide effective IT solutions.
   • Participate in cross-functional projects to ensure seamless integration of IT systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of system and network administration, including proficiency with operating systems, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with security best practices and the ability to implement and manage security measures.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework
