Description
This is routine work to facilitate the care, maintenance and repair of college user computers and associated software. An employee in a position allocated to this class is responsible for providing troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on PCs and the installation and maintenance of software in a networked environment.
Examples of Duties

Troubleshoot PC hardware, software and user problems.
Install college owned and college approved software on PCs as assigned as per college policy and procedures.
Repair and/or assist in the repair of college owned PCs on all campuses as assigned.
Configure college owned specialized computers and software to work successfully.
Set up of Microsoft Office including Outlook (or other E-mail clients as assigned) and configure E-mail for employees as assigned.
Help users understand how their E-mail works and apprise them of college policy regarding Internet and E-mail usage policy.
Assist instructors, as assigned, in the set up of multimedia systems for presentations.
Keep accurate records of work performed through work order system.
Work with other team members on large installation or software configuration projects as assigned.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager, Network and Security.

Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of Personal Computers (PCs) including hardware and software capabilities. Skill and understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating systems in a networked environment. Skill and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite of products. Understanding of basic networking and terminology. Ability to plan and organize work according to priority. Ability to follow specific instructions and adhere to policy and procedure. Ability to work well with other team members in a close environment. Ability in oral and written communications. Ability to adjust to change and be innovative. Must be able to
work well with students, instructors and staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma. AS degree in computer sciences a plus. MCSE certificates and/or other computer repair and logistics certificates also a plus. At least three years experience with managing and configuring Windows operating systems combined with repair troubleshooting and repair of hardware.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Heavy (45 pounds and over) lifting.
Use of fingers.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works inside in a multiple office environment. Walking from building to building.
