IT Technician / Specialist
We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to join our team at a custom manufacturing facility. This role is essential for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the IT infrastructure across the organization. You will manage a variety of technical tasks, supporting both hardware and software solutions to ensure the efficiency and security of day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer servers, desktop/laptop computers (PC & Mac), printers, routers, switches, firewalls, mobile devices, software deployment, and security updates.
- Troubleshoot software applications, and hardware configurations, and perform diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, workstations, and related equipment.
- Provide network and application security by managing user accounts, setting permissions, and maintaining security protocols.
- Ensure systems are aligned with best practices in IT security and compliance.
- Manage software and hardware licenses and contracts.
- Set up and configure new workstations, including access rights and security for new hires, and manage separations.
- Inspect and maintain computer hardware (e.g., HDD, keyboards, printers) for functionality.
- Develop and maintain local networks to optimize performance.
- Schedule upgrades and maintenance without interrupting workflow.
- Maintain logs of repairs, updates, and the maintenance schedule.
- Identify equipment shortages and verify backups, performing restores when needed.
- Provide timely support and solutions for internal clients on IT-related issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IT equipment and applications used in a manufacturing environment, including label printers, scanners, and process control interfaces.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience using a ticketing system.
- Proficiency in Windows OS, Mac, MS Office Suite, SQL Server, and various OEM PCs.
- Experience with Epicor ERP, Python, and Arduino is a plus.
- Experience with Windows 10, Server 2016, VMware, LAN/WAN, and networking concepts (e.g., DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, NAT, wireless technology).
- Ability to configure network switches.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networks, internet security, and data privacy principles.
- Proficiency in Office365 administration and troubleshooting.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; IT Technician certifications are highly preferred.
