Position Overview:
KNZ Solutions is looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Part-Time IT Technician to support our IT operations. In this role, you will assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of our technology systems. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure while gaining hands-on experience with a variety of technologies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to staff by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist with the setup, installation, and configuration of desktops, laptops, printers, and other
peripherals.
• Support the IT team in installing and updating software applications, ensuring systems are up to date.
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
• Manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution or escalation of technical issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation for equipment, software, and user support logs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, and system checks.
• Help ensure the security of IT systems by applying security patches and updates as directed.
• Collaborate with other departments and users to provide IT solutions that meet their needs.
• Support IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
Education Requirements:
• Currently pursuing or have completed an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A, Network , or equivalent are a plus but not required.
• Equivalent practical experience in IT support or related areas will also be considered.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in a similar IT support role or academic setting.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and macOS), and
software applications.
• Familiarity with network technologies, such as TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility around peak business needs.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with cloud services and virtualization platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including virus protection, firewalls, and data privacy.
• Experience in supporting remote or hybrid work environments.
Schedule and Compensation:
This is a part-time role with flexible hours. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Opportunities for additional hours may arise based on business needs and project workloads.
