At The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Ministries Corporation, we are searching for a qualified IT Training & Documentation Specialist. This position is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing technical training programs that enhance employees’ technical knowledge and skills. This role also involves developing and maintaining detailed documentation of IT systems and processes.

Developing straightforward, concise training materials that effectively communicate key information, and deliver training sessions tailored to small groups and individual learners. Take the lead in supporting the IT Department’s documentation needs by creating and maintaining comprehensive records of systems and processes for campus employees, collaborating closely with supervisors and senior management to ensure a seamless experience for new hires and departing staff.

Take the lead in supporting the IT Department’s documentation needs by creating and maintaining comprehensive records of systems and processes for campus employees, collaborating closely with supervisors and senior management to ensure a seamless experience for new hires and departing staff.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver basic end user training programs on software applications, cybersecurity, end-user systems and data management.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify technical skill gaps based on feedback from IT and facilitate training sessions for staff and end-users.
- Create technical documentation for internal IT and basic instructions/guides/materials for staff and end-users.
- Assist users in understanding and utilizing IT systems and empower employees to use technology effectively.
- Act as the primary liaison between the IT department and other departments to manage IT support services.
- Collaborate departmental managers to coordinate the setup of IT accounts, access permissions, and equipment for new employees.
- Manage the IT offboarding process for departing employees, including the retrieval of equipment, termination of access, and ensuring the security of company data.
- Propose and implement enhancements to IT training programs, documentation, and other processes to enhance organizational needs by address emerging challenges.
- Act as a point of contact for IT related training queries, offering guidance and resolving issues as they arise.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication, writing and documentation skills; with experience creating user guides and training materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus departments and managers.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and technical documentation platforms.
- Ability to prioritize competing assignments and projects.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships.

Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Working Knowledge of IT systems, software applications, cybersecurity practices, and data management.
- 1 year experience as an IT Corporate Trainer, Technical Trainer, or similar role, with a background in creating technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications such as CompTIA CTT+, Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), or other relevant IT certifications are a preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stand walk, talk, sit, and hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulder height, reach below the waist, or lift as needed throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques are required.
