The Cancer Prevention Research Training Program (CPRTP) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas prepares scientists and clinicians to achieve leadership roles as research investigators in the field of cancer prevention and control. This two-year postdoctoral fellowship is funded by an endowment to MD Anderson Cancer Center by The Janice Davis Gordon Memorial in Colorectal Cancer Prevention Research. The goals of this postdoctoral program are to expand the existing perspective of the fellow by moving them from their base of strength in a particular specialty and to equip them with additional knowledge and methods, appropriate to the proposed colorectal cancer prevention research. With a special focus on career development and interdisciplinary collaboration, the CPRTP seeks trainees in basic biomedical sciences, biostatistics and bioinformatics, systems biology, epidemiology, genetics, behavioral and social sciences, economics, and related population and public health disciplines.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Janice Davis Gordon Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship in Colorectal Cancer Prevention Research provide a comprehensive experience centered around mentored research in colorectal cancer prevention and control, guided by expert faculty research scientists and clinicians. Trainees will gain multidisciplinary expertise through rigorous quantitative methods, a specialized colorectal cancer prevention curriculum, individualized development plans, and career development activities. Participants will engage in cancer prevention seminars, present research at scientific meetings, attend professional development workshops, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Immersed in a cross-disciplinary research environment, trainees are well-prepared to launch their careers as principal investigators.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The Janice Davis Gordon Memorial in Colorectal Cancer Prevention is a two-year fellowship open to U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Visa Holders). Applicants may also have backgrounds in the basic biomedical sciences, medicine, biomedical statistics, epidemiology, behavioral and social sciences, nursing, or related public health disciplines. The proposed research project must be related to colorectal cancer prevention.

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. MD Anderson trainee compensation also includes:
