Overview:
As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within various facilities, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for occupants and visitors alike. Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, carpets, and furniture.
- Restroom Maintenance: Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
- Trash Disposal: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in designated containers, ensuring proper sorting and disposal procedures are followed.
- Surface Cleaning: Clean mirrors, and other glass surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Supply Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when supplies need to be replenished.
- Safety and Security: Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment; report any safety hazards or security concerns immediately.
- Special Requests: Accommodate special cleaning requests from staff or management as needed.
- Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a janitor or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to handle basic maintenance and repair tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Working Conditions:
- Typically work indoors.
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Flexible hours may be required, including evenings and weekends. Oftentimes there will be immediate assignments.
