Position Description
Job Title: Janitor/Light Maintenance
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Job Status: Full-Time
Reporting Functions: Reports to Head of Maintenance staff and School Principal.
Job Function: Provides cleaning service to the school building to support the functionality of the school.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Trash: Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables.
- Windows: Washing windows, both inside and outside.
- Supplies: Stocking cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other items.
- Maintenance: Performing minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs or unclogging toilets.
- Safety: Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces that are touched frequently.
- Security: Locking doors to secure buildings.
- Grounds: Tending to the grounds of the establishment.
- Notifications: Notifying managers when a building needs major repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned and asked by the Head of Maintenance Staff and School Principal.
Educational Requirements:
- A High School education is required.

- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and proper use of cleaning products.

- Have good organizational skills and be able to work independently.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the use of cleaning supplies and harsh cleaning chemicals; must be capable of using all supplies efficiently and safely and follow all facility safety policies. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Normal school environment. Full-time; Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
