Pay Range:
The Facilities & Custodial Lead will assist with the oversight of the day-to-day facility operations of the RJKCCC. This includes all building and utility infrastructure as well as supervision custodians and facilities team members. This position will also be responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager and Senior Facilities Lead in the planning, scheduling, and assignment of duties.
- Work Experience
- Requires at least 3 years of experience in current janitorial methods and procedures used to maintain a large multi-use facility.
- Must have thorough knowledge of health and sanitation requirements of a public facility, preferably utilizing “green/sustainable” cleaning products and methods.
- One to two (1-2) years of experience supervising staff preferred
Responsibilities:
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, assign and direct the work of facilities staff, including setup and after care of rentals and events.
- Assist with the oversight to the day-to-day facility operations, including inventory control.
- Monitor the facility and external areas (soccer field, outside courts, spray grounds, etc.), parking lots and landscaped areas daily.
- Monitor all electrical, and ventilation systems for each area daily.
- Identify any needed repairs or special projects to plumbing, electrical, windows or structures.
- Assist in the developing, supervision, and execution of year round preventative maintenance plans.
- Meet regularly with the Facilities Manager and Senior Facilities Lead to set priorities and make recommendations for repairs, remodeling and replacement of facility equipment.
- Assist Facilities Manager and Senior Facilities Lead with the creation of office support systems that will allow for timely and accurate record keeping, including the areas of repair logs, accounting of expenditures, daily reports and other reporting as required.
- Supervise daily operation of facilities and custodial staff with maintaining the appearance and functionality of the facilities and grounds components including doors, windows, flooring, roofing, walls, ceilings and furnishings.
- Assist Facilities staff and Aquatics Manager with year-round upkeep and maintenance of pool, including maintaining pool filtration systems and health code matters related to operation of the pools.
- In coordination with the Facilities Manager and Senior Facilities Lead, conduct periodic review of all system-related security plans throughout the organization’s network.
- Maintain Salvation Army vehicles, including routine maintenance such as oil changes, filters and tire pressure checks, annual inspections and registration renewals and other related upkeep
- Assist Facilities Manager and Senior Facilities Lead in making recommendations for hiring, terminations, training, and evaluating staff
- Inspect equipment on a weekly basis; report needs report.
- See that all injuries for those under your department whether employee, volunteer, visitor, or spectator report all injuries in a timely manner and according to procedure.
- Assist with food pantry pick up, delivery and stocking of shelves, as needed.
- Ensure a safe, enjoyable and professional operation by supporting and enforcing the rules and regulations of the RJKCCC.

- Must have a working knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task
- Detail oriented and attention to detail
- Must exhibit strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written & verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in using multiple cleaning machines and devices.
- Must be physically fit to do extensive walking, stair climbing, lifting (maximum 50 lbs), and using equipment to move heavier objects.
- Attain a pool operator certification (CPO) within one year from date of hire.
- Must be able to work weekends and evenings
- Must have a valid license driver’s license
