About the Job
This position is responsible for a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of the athletic complex. The work involves keeping the environment healthy and safe. This is a part-time (29.5 hours per week) position. This part-time, non-exempt position reports to the Director of Buildings and Grounds and Manager of Housekeeping and is located on the Ann Arbor, Michigan campus.
Responsibilities
• Clean all bathrooms toilets, vanities, mirrors, etc. daily
• Clean all showers daily
• Maintain the floors daily in the athletic training rooms, locker rooms, etc.
• Clean the press box after the home games
• Clean and maintain all walkways and stairwells
• Clean the windows and trash cans weekly
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work
• Knowledge of safe work practices and ability to use safe work practices
• Ability to clean and care for assigned areas and equipment
• Knowledge and ability to use a variety of custodial equipment, supplies and materials
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions
• Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments and follow a work schedule and work independently
• Ability to supervise student workers
• Ability to move and lift heavy objects
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff and students
Education and/or Training
High School diploma or G.E.D. One to three years of work related experience in a hospital/school environment preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time position. Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia disability and retirement plan enrollment is available to employees and their eligible dependents. Tuition benefits are available for employees and their qualified dependents.
