Java Developer - INSPYR Solutions

Title: Sr. Java Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ Months
Compensation: $60 -$68/hr
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team for a critical project aimed at stabilizing a custom application. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in Java development, particularly in the web app and API space. This role requires excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, as you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a successful go-live in just a couple of weeks.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Stabilize and enhance a custom web application using Java and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
• Work on API integrations and optimize performance for the web app.
• Participate in planning and execution of the application upgrade from Vaadin 7 to the current version (24).
• Assist in upgrading Java and Spring Boot frameworks, ensuring compatibility and performance enhancements.
• Document processes and provide knowledge transfer to team members.

• Java Development: 5-7 years of experience in Java programming, with a strong background in building web applications and APIs.
• Web Application Development: Proven experience in developing and maintaining web apps, particularly in the Java ecosystem.
• JavaScript: Proficient in JavaScript for front-end development and API interaction.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and team members.

• Vaadin Framework: Experience with Vaadin 7 is essential; familiarity with upgrading to the latest version (24) is a significant plus.
• Spring Boot: Understanding of Spring Boot for building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Upgrade Experience: Previous experience in managing software upgrades and enhancements, particularly within Java applications.
