The Sr. Application developer s primary role will be to manage the current applications and work on AWS migration in conjunction with the Shared Applications Architect and Release Management teams. The client is looking for motivated individuals that seek-out public service as an opportunity to expand their knowledge, gain valuable experience, and give back to the community. This position is anticipated to be a minimum six-month engagement with the possibility of being extended for a longer term.

Job Duties:
- Responsible for the analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation in the development and maintenance of critical applications
- Accountable for full systems development life cycle including system architecture documents; technical design documents, release management guide, deployment plan documents, and other technical artifacts
- Prepare SQL scripts for modifying and maintaining data. Write optimized queries, views for integration with other applications
- Document and maintain code using change control software
- Support cross-functional projects and integrated business solutions to enhance stakeholder capabilities and efficiencies
- Work with cross-functional teams to manage projects, create statement of work and communicate progress on goals to both technical and non-technical groups
- Adhere to established Commonwealth policy and procedures
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in a computer science or a related field or relevant work experience
- 8+ years experience programming in a team environment.
- Strong working knowledge and experience in programming with Oracle and Java/J2EE technologies.
- Ability to design SQL databases given applications demands and data models
- Working knowledge and experience of application servers, ideally WebLogic and AWS
- Proven ability to write well-designed, efficient, and testable code
- Experience supporting a test-driven development culture
- Knowledge and experience working with information and security architectures
- Experience programming in Agile methodologies
- Experience in building high quality applications by creating a well-designed architecture, writing clean code and implementing industry standards, design concepts and design patterns.
- Must have successfully delivered complex applications by collaborating with non-technical team members including quality assurance, business analysts, release engineers and project managers.
- Expert knowledge of Java/J2EE Stack including Apache, Tomcat, Linux
- Expert level knowledge on developing multi-tier enterprise level web based applications using J2EE technologies, Hibernate, Spring and XML/XSLT and Multi-threading concepts
- Expert knowledge of PHP, AJAX, Spring Boot, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery2.x/3.0,CSS and Angular JS (2.0 or higher) or Node JS
- Expert knowledge in Web Services (Restful and SOAP) and security
- Healthcare standards such as CCD/C-CDA, HL7, FHIR etc. is preferred
- Knowledge on technologies such as ElasticSearch, Kibana, Logstash and other big data concepts
- Hands-on experience working with AWS core services and deploying cloud-based solutions using AWS services such as VPCs, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, Glue, IAM, SQS, CloudWatch, Route53, ALB Code Pipeline etc.
- Ability to mentor and lead technical team members responsibly
- Ability to handle aggressive deadlines with agility and results driven approach
- Ability to translate, statistically analyze data and effectively report problems through written and /or graphic format
- Ability to independently determine technical solutions including test documentation
- Applies advanced knowledge of design methodologies
- Exhibit DevOps Mindset where team is accountable for applications/project from inception to sunset
- Knowledge and understanding of performance testing and tuning of applications
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- .Net design and development experience a plus.
