What does a successful Java Software Engineer do at Fiserv?

What You Will Do:
+ Develop software solutions using established engineering best practices, Java Back-End Development.
+ Collaborate with team members in Scrum Agile events to deliver high-quality code.
+ Design and deliver working software through our established coding standards and automation capabilities.
+ Implement automated tests to verify software behavior during the build process.
+ Identify and fix problems by debugging malfunctioning or underperforming code.
+ Participate in code reviews, providing technical feedback to team members.
+ Continuously improve team execution through learning and adopting new technologies and practices.
+ Build and maintain CI/CD processes through pipeline automation.
What You Need to Have:
+ Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military.
+ 4+ years of professional software development experience.
+ 4+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages (Java/Spring Boot).
+ 4+ years of experience with datastores and writing database queries.
+ Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Agile methodologies.
+ Proficiency with using Git for code management, including branching and merging practices.
What Would Be Great to Have:
+ Experience with Docker: You’ve built and managed Docker images, enhancing your ability to deploy and scale applications.
+ Familiarity with Kubernetes: You have a solid understanding of Kubernetes, including container management and monitoring.
+ Exposure to AWS Cloud Services: You’re familiar with AWS Cloud services and hold or are working towards an AWS certification.
+ Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines: You’ve worked with CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI, to streamline development and deployment processes.
+ Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code: You have hands-on experience with IaC frameworks like Helm, helping automate infrastructure management.
