About the Job
Position Summary
Responsible for the daily training, on-site supervision, monitoring and overall support of job trainee. Required to monitor progress and report and document changes, concerns and / or successes to Supported Employment Administrator or Program Coordinator and as required by the program. Provides one-on-one customer supports at the customer’s job site, assists customers in development of work skills and achievement of success in integrated community employment. Position is on an as-needed basis and is located in Llittle Rock/North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Work Schedule
Hours and days will vary to accommodate the needs of the customer and the department. Weekends, evenings, holidays, and variable hours may be required. High degree of flexibility necessary.
Qualifications/Specifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Three years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Valid Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance required. Must have Job Coach Certification prior to beginning work.
- Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Performs at a proficient level all tasks within the specialty area.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work with all levels of personnel, individuals in the community and customers in a professional manner. Ability to adapt to stressful situations and keep calm in a crisis.
- Essential Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds. Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Critical Cognitive Abilities: Requires excellent communication and organizational skills. Requires superior reasoning ability, a high degree of independent judgment, and discretion.
- Essential Sensory Requirements: Ability to respond to staff, customer, and client needs in a timely manner by interpreting verbal and nonverbal expressions. Ability to work in environments with consistent high noise.
- Other: Understands the mission and vision of Independent Case Management. Operates within the concept of client focused care. Must adhere to dress code, good grooming, personal hygiene habits, and attendance policies. Maintains knowledge and conforms to ICM and program policies and procedures.
Primary Duties
- Provides instruction, monitoring, prompting and coordination of scheduling of daily employment activities and routines at customer’s place of employment.
- Provides transportation for the customer to and from his/her place of employment.
- Assists client with onsite problem-solving options and provides appropriate feedback and reinforcement.
- Follows all requirements set forth in ICM policies and procedures and ICM supported employment standard operating procedures.
- Learns and complies with community employment provider policies, rules and procedures and communicates and facilitates their application by the customer.
- Assures safety of the customer on the work site and immediately reports concerns.
- Reports all schedule conflicts or absences to the Supported Employment Administrator in order to all for the scheduling of a substitute.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
- Understands and complies with all HIPAA regulations.
- Obtains and maintains effective relationships with community employers.
- Provides intervention in crisis situations. Some unusual conditions exist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
