About the Job
BJC Medical Group is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our growing practice based at Progress West Hospital in St. Charles County, Missouri.

Position Highlights:
- Join 3 established gastroenterologists and 3 experienced APPs
- Based at Progress West Hospital in St. Charles County
- Shared call of 1:5 with BJC Medical Group GIs at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital
- Ample support staff with experienced Practice Managers, MA's, Medical Secretaries and RN
- Be busy from the start with a large primary care referral base
- General GI with Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities plus blocked time in the GI lab
- Flexible scheduling, typically 1-2 days in the clinic and 3 days in the lab
Compensation and Benefits:
- Generous Two-year guarantee
- $50,000 signing bonus

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is a 101-bed community hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, Breast Health and Women’s Center, Cardiology Center, a nationally accredited Sleep and Breathing Lab, and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center. The hospital also has a 35-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility, operated by The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis, a joint partnership between BJC HealthCare and HealthSouth Corporation.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
- Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
- Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
